William Dewitt Lee

William “Billy” Dewitt Lee passed away peacefully after a short battle with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his residence in Robert, Louisiana, at the age of 75.  He was born on Friday, March 11, 1949, in Independence, Louisiana.

Billy was a United States Army Veteran and was retired from Shell Oil Company.  He touched many lives and was an extremely giving and caring person.  He was unofficially known as the “Mayor of Robert” and was the “information center” for his family and friends. Billy enjoyed earning extra money frying turkeys for everyone.  He would give you the shirt off his back.  He enjoyed his farm, his favorite bull, his horse, and his dog, Pearl.  He loved music, Nascar, and was an LSU fan.

Billy is survived by his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Shannon Dantoni and Phillip Vicknair; grandsons, Logan Dantoni and Collin Vicknair; granddaughter, Breyla Dantoni; sister, Carolyn Lee Ballard; brother, Sidney Lee, Jr. (Sharon Kay); sister-in-law, Lisa Lee; brother-in-law, James Dunnington; and devoted caregiver who was like a son, Bobby Serigne; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Helen Joiner Lee and Sidney Lee, Sr.; brothers, Richard Lee and Raymond Lee (Alice); sister, Elaine Dunnington; and brother-in-law, Matthew Ballard, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 12:00 pm.

The interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Willie Cemetery in Folsom, Louisiana.
