Vivian Gonzales Melerine

Vivian Gonzales Melerine passed away at her residence in St. Bernard, Louisiana on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 84.  She was born on Monday, May 6, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Vivian was a dedicated homemaker who dearly loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She loved sewing, photography, and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed collecting and documenting many photos over the years, some dating back to her parents and grandparents.

Vivian is survived by her beloved family: her husband, Marty Anthony Melerine, Sr; children, Jill A. Melerine, Marty A. Melerine, Jr. (Rosa), and Dean J. Melerine (Michelle); sister, Elenora "Nora" Mook (John); brother, Nicholas "Nicky" Gonzales (Ann); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Nicholas “Chico” Gonzales; brother, Joseph "José" Gonzales; and sister, Doris Robin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2805 Bayou Road, St. Bernard, Louisiana 70085 on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 12:00 pm.  Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 am until service time.
