Vincent J. Arena, Jr., affectionately known as Jack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 80. Born on Sunday, January 27, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he spent most of his life in Metairie where he raised his family. Jack was a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many.

Jack had deep roots in his beloved New Orleans, where he was born and developed values that guided him throughout his life. He took great pride in his Sicilian heritage, celebrating the traditions and cultural richness passed down through generations.

Jack’s professional journey was marked by integrity and entrepreneurial spirit. As the owner of Arena Advertising, Inc., he built a respected business that became known for honesty and creativity. In the course of his career, Jack formed enduring friendships and served the community he loved so deeply, leaving behind an indelible mark through both his work and the relationships he nurtured.

Faith and fellowship were cornerstones of his life. Jack was a proud member of Manresa Group 17, devoting himself as a longtime retreatant. These years provided him with spiritual strength, a supportive brotherhood, and countless memories of personal growth. Additionally, his connection to the Krewe of Zeus was a source of joy and community, reflecting his love for the culture and traditions of New Orleans.

He took great pride in his Sicilian heritage, celebrating the traditions and cultural richness passed down through generations.

Among his many accomplishments, Jack was most proud of the bonds he forged with family and friends. Family gatherings brought him immense happiness, especially those spent around the table sharing meals, laughter, and stories. His warmth was legendary, and those who knew him will remember his generous spirit, infectious humor, and unwavering support.

Jack is survived by his loving children: his daughters Karlene Arena and Marianne Scioneaux, and his son Vincent Arena III. He was a proud grandfather to Alexis Scioneaux, Parker Latham, and Breanne Arena. Jack’s presence will also be deeply missed by his brother James Arena; former wife Carolyn Snead; niece Ruth Purcell; and nephews David Purcell and Stephen Purcell.

He reunites in peace with his parents, Vincent Arena Sr. and Iris Arena, as well as his sister Judy Arena and brother Gary Arena, all of whom preceded him in death.

Family and friends are invited to honor Jack’s life on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM. Inurnment will take place at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA.

Faith and fellowship were cornerstones of his life.

Jack Arena will be remembered for the love, laughter, and legacy he leaves behind—one rooted in kindness, community, and a profound appreciation for the joy found in every moment spent with those he loved.

The arrangements to honor Jack's life have been entrusted to LN Hughes Funeral Services of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
