Troy M. Michelli

Troy M. Michelli passed away peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021 in Loranger, Louisiana at the age of 51.  He was born on Sunday, December 7, 1969 in Independence, Louisiana and was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Troy had a natural tendency to draw people to himself and make friendships for life. He was easy to love and never met a stranger. He wasn’t one to beat around the bush but was sure to tell it like it was. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was a hard worker and talented craftsman. He was employed with Smith and Purvis for many years and worked on multiple side construction and flooring jobs as well. He was a NASCAR and football fan.  Troy enjoyed fishing, golfing, and beach trips with his friends.  He enjoyed cooking and was known for his many special dishes.

In his more recent years he developed a faith in the Lord that was unwavering and a deep desire to grow in that relationship. He became a member of Calvary Christian Center in Hammond where he was also employed.  He spent much time reading and studying scripture and was always looking for an opportunity to share his testimony and God’s word with others.  He also began teaching a men’s Bible study class at Calvary.  Not only did he gain a newfound love for Christ and life, but also gained another  wonderful family.  He felt blessed to be with them upon every opportunity; whether it be working, worshipping, serving, fellowshipping, or traveling.

Troy is survived by his stepmother, Claudette Mack; siblings, Joseph K. Michelli, Jr., Ladette Kerr (Jeff), and Michelle Puls (Scott); stepsister, Shalaine Bailey; niece, Chelsey Michelli, and many other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph K. Michelli, Sr. and Susan Merchant Brasseaux; grandparents, Vincent and Rosalie Michelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Troy’s Life at Calvary Christian Center, 118 North Richardson Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm.  Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and continue until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons or Samaritan’s Purse , in Troy's memory.
