Travis "Mug" Elton Arnold

Travis “Mug” Elton Arnold passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his residence in Ponchatoula, LA at the age of 92. He was born on Saturday, November 7, 1931 in Covington, LA to Vivian Pritchard and Samuel Gerard Arnold and was a lifelong resident of Ponchatoula. Sgt. Arnold proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1961.

Travis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Travis and Evelyn "Evie" Arnold; grandchildren, Justin and Katie; sister, Carol Martinson; and brothers, Otis Arnold and Eddie Arnold.  Also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Madelyn Lillian Johnson Arnold; granddaughter, Erica; parents, Vivian P and Samuel G. Arnold; sisters, Grace Mapes, Althea Perrin, and Jerelean (Jerry) Naramore; and brother, Deward (Lee) Arnold.

Travis was laid to rest next to his wife, Madelyn, in a private family Graveside Service with Military Honors in Sam Arnold Cemetery on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bedico Church of God, 28346 Highway 22 East, Ponchatoula, LA 70454 in memory of Mug Arnold.
