Thomas B. "Ace" Magee, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home in Independence, Louisiana, surrounded by his adoring family. Born on Monday, June 23, 1947, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Ace lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family and community.

Ace was a proud graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, where he earned his bachelor's degree, equipping him with the knowledge and skills that would guide his professional life. He devoted many years to the State of Louisiana, where he worked as a supervisor. His commitment to his job and the people he worked with spoke volumes about his character—he truly loved his work and touched countless lives through his leadership and kindness.

His patriotism was evident through his military service in the U.S. Army, where he was honored with the National Defense Service Medal and recognized as a Marksman. This service was a testament to his dedication and courage, values that remained with him throughout his life.

Outside of his professional and military achievements, Ace had passions that brought him joy and connected him with others. He was a devoted fan of Alabama college football and found solace in the timeless music of Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson, which resonated with his enduring spirit.

Ace is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Alessi Magee; his children, Erica Magee, Shannon Rogers, and Thomas Judson Magee, II; and his treasured grandchildren: Courtney David, Blaine Weber, Christen Magee, Bryce Rogers, Savannah Canale, Seth Canale, Charley Magee, Madison Stephens, Brittny Baham, and Coby Swartz. His great-grandchildren—Landon Moore, Abigail Moore, Jayce Lewis, Lilah Renee, Blaire David, Addie Weber, Asher Weber, and Reid Belsom—also carry forward his legacy of love. He is further survived by his brother Phil Magee (Terry), many nieces and nephews, and his loyal canine companion, Tiny.

He was preceded in death by his son Christopher B. Magee; his brother Skeet Witmorris; his grandson Brandon G. Rogers; his brother-in-law Jeffery Alessi; and his parents Athlea and Thomas Magee.

As we remember Thomas B. "Ace" Magee, we honor a man who embraced life with warmth, strength, and grace. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the impact he made and the love he shared so generously.

A Celebration of Ace's Life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at his residence. Family will receive visitors all day, so please feel free to join in the celebration.
