Thomas James Coffey, Sr.

Thomas James “Tommy” Coffey, Sr. passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 73.  He was born on Sunday, August 19, 1951, in New Orleans and resided in Ponchatoula, LA. Tommy was a former Winn Dixie store manager for 20 years and the former owner and operator of Cash & Dash Groceries for 32 years prior to his retirement. He was a hard worker who was dedicated and passionate about everything he did. He enjoyed watching football, grilling, boiling seafood, gardening, pool parties, and spending quality time with his family. Sergeant Thomas J. Coffey also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Tommy is survived by his beloved family: his wife of 33 years, Kimberly Graham Coffey; children, Thomas James Coffey, Jr (Suzanne), Daniel Joseph Coffey (Ramona), Melanie Elizabeth Coffey (Trampus), Jay Van Coffey, and Adam Chandler Coffey (Da’Sha); grandchildren, Zannah, Rhiannon, Presley, Thomas J, Justin, Olivia (Myranda), Alexis (Logan), Danielle, Tregan, and Tatum; great granddaughter, Wrenley; and siblings, Patrick Coffey (Lynn), Johnny Coffey (Chuck), Timothy Coffey (Cindy), and Peggy Bizot (Bobby). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Meriam Casse and John Joseph Coffey, Jr., and brother, Michael Coffey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Tommy’s Life on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.  The visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 3:00 pm.  Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and the American Legion Post 109.
