Shelby Jean Case Ward

Shelby Jean Case Ward passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at her residence in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, surrounded by her family, at the age of 88. She was born on Tuesday, December 21, 1937, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Shelby is survived by her beloved family: her son, Clint Ward and his wife Denise; and son, Jason Ward; grandchildren, Daniel Truxillo Jr., Christina (Sean) Broussard, Christopher (Heather) Ward, Jason Ward, Jr., and Courtney Ward; great-grandchildren, Cherish Broussard, Blaze Broussard, Holland Ward, and Liv Broussard; and sister, Laverne Britt.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard "Bud" Arrington Ward; daughter, Beverly Ward; and parents, Bernice and Clinton Case.

The Ward family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff and caregivers of Bridgeway Hospice and Angel Doss for their compassionate care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until service time.
