Reneè lived a life full of warmth, adventure, and vibrant spirit.

Reneè Gervais Lemoine, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Hammond, Louisiana, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Born on Wednesday, December 9, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Reneè lived a life full of warmth, adventure, and vibrant spirit.

Her life was deeply rooted in the connections she nurtured. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted family: her significant other, Roger Owen; her cherished children, Dawn Mayeux, Troy Mayeux (Brandy), and Brandy Ruggles; her adoring grandchildren, Gabrielle Riecke, Austin Riecke (Lynleigh), Taylor McGowan (Nicholas), Brianna Hudson (Garrett), Bethany Mayeux, Talia Mayeux, Havyn Shoemaker, Caydence Ruggles, Nevaeh Ruggles, and Ayden Ruggles. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Chloe Riecke, Emmalyn Feicht, Briana Poche, and Harley Robinson. Each of them brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Reneè is now reunited with her parents, Rufus and Marie Gervais, her brother, R.J. Gervais, Jr., and her sisters, Cheryl and Paulette Gervais, who preceded her in death. The love she shared with her family who have gone before her, and the memories she created with those she leaves behind, remain indelible.

Those who knew Reneè will remember a woman whose zest for life was infectious. She delighted in the simple joys of being surrounded by family and friends—her home and heart were always open. Reneè was famed among her circle for her fondness for card games and her enjoyment of playing blackjack at the casino. Her laughter and lively spirit could light up any room, and her outgoing personality turned every gathering into a celebration. To know Reneè was truly to love her, and her absence will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of sharing in her life.

In reflecting on the life of Reneè, her family treasures not only the memories made, but the values she instilled in each of them: generosity, kindness, and the importance of togetherness. Her memory will forever be a guiding presence, echoing in afternoon card games, joyful reunions, and moments of shared laughter.

A private service will be held by her family. She will be sadly missed and warmly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
