Raymond Edward Martin

Raymond Edward Martin passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Jena, Louisiana at the age of 79.  He was born on Sunday, May 18, 1941 in Tickfaw, Louisiana and resided in Loranger, Louisiana.  Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Linda Christine and Jacqueline Rochel Martin; stepchildren, Judy Lynn, Kerry Oliver, and Elizabeth Jeanette; brother, Jerry Denny Martin; favorite nephew, Robert Martin; and his sidekick, Austin Martin.  Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife Florence Jordan Martin; parents, Clara and Sim Martin; and siblings, Ruby Wagner, Alfred Martin, Louis Martin, Earl Martin, Bobby Martin, and Hugo Martin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of  LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 12:00 pm with his nephew, Rev. John Spears, presiding.  Visitation will begin at 9:30 am and continue until service time.  Serving as pallbearers: Anthony Martin, Austin Martin, Lance Boyd, Tyler Boyd, Trent Boyd, and Brandon LaCour.

Interment will follow in New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana with military honors.
