Peter David Arbour, known to everyone as David, age 61, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed surrounded by his family on November 4, 2025. He was born on November 27, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to the late James Paul Arbour and Doris Fay Gerald.
David worked as a painter at Southeastern Louisiana University for over ten years, where he took great pride in his craft and was known for his dedication and friendly spirit. He loved to stay busy and was happiest when working with his hands. In addition to his skill as a craftsman, David was also an amazing artist — gifted at drawing, though few knew about his hidden talent.
Outside of work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures — spending time fishing, tinkering in his shop, and rebuilding things like trucks, boats, and golf carts. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather, affectionately known as “Paw” by his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tandra Arbour; his children, Christina Sanders (Dustin) and Michael Arbour (Leanne); and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Brock, and Adilyn Sanders. He also leaves behind his sisters Paula Buhler (Ricky), Judy Vigil, Tracy Holly, and Leann Abbot, along with his nephews Jimmie Caudle (Danielle) and Danny Caudle (Jenna).
David was preceded in death by his parents, James Paul Arbour and Doris Fay Gerald.
