Norma Lee Adams Toney

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the home going of Norma Lee Adams Toney, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend who was a beacon of unwavering faith, on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the age of 91.

Born Thursday, September 14, 1933 to Howard and Viola Adams, Norma Lee lived a life deeply rooted in her devotion to her Savior. Her faith was not merely an observance, but the very essence of her being, guiding her every action and interaction. She found solace and strength in her relationship with God, and her unwavering belief served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

As a cornerstone of her community, Norma Lee possessed a sassy yet gentle spirit with a kind servant heart, always ready with a comforting word, a helping hand or a warm meal. Her home was a sanctuary, filled with the warmth of her love and the aroma of almond cakes, chocolate pies, and the favorite dish of whomever she was feeding. She loved and cherished her family above all else. The love for her children, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren as well as all those that found refuge within their home through the years was truly a reflection of the love of Jesus.

Her life was a testament to the power of prayer and the importance of living a life of service. She was a founding member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and remained an active member her entire life. Her dedication to her faith community was unwavering, and she found immense joy in fellowship and worship.

Norma Lee faced life's challenges with grace and resilience, always trusting in God's plan. Her unwavering optimism and positive outlook were a source of strength for those around her. Even in her final days, her faith remained steadfast, offering comfort and peace to her loved ones.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will continue to inspire us all. Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed into the loving embrace of her Savior.

Norma Lee is survived by her eldest daughter, Patricia Ann Helton and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Dolan Toney, her son Howard Leander Toney and daughter Jeannette Marie Aime.

A service to celebrate Norma Lee's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:30 am at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center, 40228 Macedonia Road, Hammond, Louisiana 70403. The visitation will begin at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at the service, or your donation may be mailed to 40227 Adams Road, Hammond, LA 70403 to support the church and continued upkeep of the cemetery that she so dearly and passionately loved.
