Mildred Anne Motley, beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence in Hammond, Louisiana, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on Wednesday, November 9, 1966, in New Orleans, Anne grew up surrounded by the warmth of family, an influence that remained with her throughout her life.
Throughout her years, Anne was known for her gentle spirit and unwavering commitment to those she loved. As a devoted wife to her husband, Dwayne P. Motley, she shared a partnership rooted in love, understanding, and mutual respect. Together, they built a family and home defined by kindness, laughter, and compassion.
Anne's greatest joy was found in the lives of her children: Amber Motley, Crystal Wentworth, Stephen Lanier, and Marshal Buras. Her nurturing heart and patient guidance provided them with a strong foundation and a loving example to follow. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren—Jack, Noah, and Micah—showering them with affection and delighting in their accomplishments and laughter. She was the cherished daughter of Victor Paez, and her close relationship with him was a source of strength and comfort.
Family remained at the core of Anne’s existence. Her heart held the memory of her late mother, Mildred Flood Williams, and her late brother, Victor Paez Jr., whose lives she honored in thought and spirit.
Anne faced life’s joys and challenges with grace and dignity. She was admired by all who knew her for her sincerity, generosity, and unwavering support. Whether sharing an encouraging word or quietly lending a hand, Anne's actions spoke volumes about her character and the depth of her care for others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, LA, on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Following the Mass, a burial will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Anne's spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose paths she crossed.
Anne's arrangements have been entrusted to LN Hughes Funeral Services of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
