Michael Alex Bennett passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Bedico, Louisiana, at the age of 67. He was born on Saturday, December 6, 1958, in Covington, Louisiana to the late Arlene Morse Bennett and the late Clarence Alexander Bennett. He was a resident of Bedico, Louisiana. Michael served his country in the National Guard. He was a man who loved the Lord, his family, and the simple joys of life with all that he had.
He was a devoted servant of God, living his life with quiet strength, humility, and a deep-rooted faith that guided him each and every day. His love for the Lord was evident not only in his words, but in the way he treated others—with kindness, patience, and grace.
Above all, he was a family man. He cherished his loved ones deeply, but nothing brought him more joy than being “Ol’Paw” to his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he treasured every laugh, hug, and moment spent with them. His legacy will live on in their hearts forever.
A cowboy at heart, he found peace and happiness in the simple, honest things. Whether he was riding on his tractor, tending to the land, or spending a quiet afternoon boiling peanuts, he embraced life in a way that was both genuine and full of gratitude. He also had a creative spirit and found joy in drawing, leaving behind little pieces of his heart in every sketch.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong faith, and the deep love he poured into his family. Though he will be greatly missed, we find comfort knowing he is now at peace, reunited with his Savior.
His life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and devotion—a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Michael is survived by his wife, Shelia Bennett; daughters Morgan Bryant (Will), Meghan Chatellier, and Lane Miller (Caleb); grandchildren Lakin, Alexa, Bailey, Meyah, Harper, Finley, Sadie, and Lincoln; bonus grandchild Jake; sister Nancy DeFreese; and brother Randall Bennett
