Margaret Bordok Reno

Margaret Bordok Reno of Manchac, LA passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, surrounded by her family, at the age of 100. Born on Monday, August 11, 1924, to Alex and Annie Bordok, Margaret was raised in a Hungarian Community in Albany, LA. Growing up, she worked on her family’s strawberry fields and later became a riveter, assembling planes during WWII. After the war, she married and started her family.  She and her husband built a foundation in the seafood industry that her family continues today. Margaret cherished spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Margie is survived by her sons, Raymond Bordok (Karen), Frank Reno, Jr. (Priscilla), and Hayden E. Reno (Debbie); her daughter, Katrina Black (Curtis); grandchildren, Claudette Reno, Chasity Caves (J.B.), Hayden B. Reno, Blake Reno (Kaitlyn), Kurtis Black, Kirstie Black, Miranda Caskey, and Natalie Bordok; great-grandchildren, Michael Erwin, Samantha Whitaker, Caleb Milton, Hannah Reno, Blakelyn Reno, Beckham Reno, Bryar Black, Preston Black, Trenton Schecnayder, and Shayla Caskey; and great-great-grandchildren, Asher & Emery Whitaker, and Kane & Liam Erwin.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank “Dunk” Reno, Sr.; son, Kerry Reno; and grandson, Joshua Reno. Her memory will live on through those who love her dearly, and she will be greatly missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Thursday, March 13, 2025.  The visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 3:00 pm.

Interment will be held in Parklawn Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
