Leon Gabriel Perret, Jr.

Leon Gabriel Perret, Jr. passed away peacefully at his residence in Albany, Louisiana, surrounded by his family, on Monday, August 8, 2022, at the age of 77.  He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday, November 30, 1944, lived in St. Bernard Parish for many years, prior to moving to Albany with Patricia, his beloved wife of 29 years.  He was Past Master of Graham Washington Lodge #413, F. & A.M., Past Patron of Alberta Retif Chapter 252, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Nova Stella Chapter 36, Order of the Eastern Star.

Leon is survived by his beloved family: his wife, Patricia “Pat” Walker Perret; children, Rebecca Portier (Hillary “Hap”); Troy Perret, Sr., Pamela Stewart (Scott), Shyllie Morgan (Barry), Laura Smith (Scott), and Liesl Walton (Brad); and grandchildren, Chelsy, Melody, Macy, Gordon, Rowan, Alex, Brady, Olivia, Jackson, and Troy, Jr.; also survived by his beloved, Tippy Boy.

Preceded in death by his son, Leon G. Perret, III; parents, Irene Salisbury Perret and Leon G. Perret, Sr.; and siblings, William Jacob Stevens, Walter Stevens, Wilbert Stevens, and Gloria S. Aitken.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation and Funeral Service at the First Baptist Church of Springfield, 31665 Highway 22, Springfield, Louisiana 70462 on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.  Order of the Eastern Star Service will begin at 10:30 am followed by Masonic Service at 11:00 am. Visitation will continue until the Baptist Service begins at 1:00 pm. Pastors Mervin Strother, Sam Leto, and Allen Demars presiding.

The interment will be held in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens at a later date.
