Kenneth Lee Licata, Sr.

Kenneth "Kenny" Lee Licata, Sr. passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Hammond, Louisiana at the age of 73. He was born on Saturday, December 17, 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana and resided in Ponchatoula.  Kenny was a tenth degree black belt and known as Hanchi in Wado Ryu.  He was a member of the Italian American St. Joseph Society Marching Club for over 30 years where he served on the Board of Directors.  He was also a boxing referee/judge for the Louisiana Boxing Commission.

Kenny is survived by his beloved children, Kenneth Lee Licata, Jr., Jennifer Lee LoGrande (Jade), Angelika Jasmine Licata (Anthony Hahn), and Alexi Leann Licata (Layne Stogdill); grandchildren, Brooke LoGrande, Bailee Lipps, Britney Lipps, Dennis Lipps, Jr., Anthony “Tony” Hahn, Jr., and Axton Hahn; great-grandchild, Paisleigh LoGrande; Godchild/niece, Crystal Ann Licata; and former wives, Cindy Fischer, mother of Kenny, Jr. and Jennifer, and Ursula McChesney, mother of Angelika and Alexi.

Preceded in death by his wife, Shawna Terrell Licata; parents, Helen Chong and Philip Licata; and brother, Anthony “Two Gun Tony” Bruce Licata.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Kenny’s Life in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Saturday, April 22, 2023 beginning at 2:00 pm.  The Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 pm.
