Kenneth Michael Joseph

February 18, 1954 — July 4, 2020

New Orleans

Kenneth Michael Joseph passed away on July 4th, 2020, after a brief but valiant battle against cancer. He
was 66 years old when he took his last breath at home on his favorite holiday, surrounded by loved
ones.

He was born in New Orleans as one of nine children of the late John and Marion Burdett Joseph. Raised
in Old Metairie, he became a long-time employee of the Jefferson Parish Fire Department and member
of the Local 1374. He resided in Mid-City.

Kenny was preceded in death by his siblings Thomas Joseph and Kathleen Joseph. He is survived by his
children, Andrea (Chad) J. Penedo, Erin J. Callhover, Kyle M. Joseph, Anna E. Joseph, and John “Jack” L.
Joseph, grandchildren, Brighton Penedo, and Abbey Callhover, siblings, Susan (Thomas) Snook, Peggy,
Robert, Paul, Laura (Blair) Buhler, Jaqueline (Dale) Laurendine, and a host of family and friends spread
far and wide.

Kenny was a remarkable and unforgettable man. His love of books and this city made him an
Ambassador of New Orleans with unmistakable charm. He had a passion for plants and never passed on
a good time.

A special thanks to all his overwhelming supportive friends whom showed up time and time again with
gourmet food, whimsical stories, comfort, love, and companionship over what turned out to be 6-week,
end of life celebration, instead of a traditional wake.

A celebration of Kenny's life will be held by his family on Sunday, the 4th of July, 2021.

Arrangements provided by LN Hughes Funeral Services.
