Kathleen Mary Arnold Goettz, a beloved mother, companion, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on Monday, June 13, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she radiated energy and charm, living a life that was entirely her own. She is a graduate of P.G.T. Beauregard High School, class of 1984.
Kathleen’s lively spirit lives on in the treasured memories and love she shared with everyone lucky enough to know her. She’ll always be remembered for the happiness she brought and the warmth she gave to her family and friends—a bright light that continues to shine in their hearts. Her sons fondly described her as quirky, nutty, and fun-loving, a big kid at heart who loved to have a good time. Kathleen brought joy and laughter wherever she went and especially loved fishing with Jimmy.
Kathleen is survived by her loving sons, Lawrence E. “Larria” Goettz, Jr. (Christine), Michael J. “Pupa” Goettz, and Emmanuel E. “My Heart” Goettz (Gabrielle), whose lives were deeply enriched by the love she gave them. She is also remembered by her loving and devoted companion, James “Jimmy” Miller, who honored her life with unwavering devotion, and her sister, JoAnn Burt.
A proud grandmother, she leaves behind cherished grandchildren Derrick, Lexie, Landyn, Liam, Tyson, Carter, and a grandson, Grady expected in February 2026. Also survived by her adoring cockatiel, Twix.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah JoAnn Arnold, father, Harry G. Hill, and sister, Sherry McGruder whose legacies of love and guidance undoubtedly shaped the woman she became.
