June Carol Volkman

June Carol Volkman, 76 of Zapata TX/Backus MN died on Monday, November 10, 2025 in Hammond, LA. June and her husband Dale were struck from behind while traveling on their motorcycle.

June was born to Nels and Alice Nelson. She graduated from Rushford High class of 1967. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester MN. While working she made many life long friendships. After retirement she and her soulmate, Dale, moved to a Minnesota lakefront cabin and a winter Texan home. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and gathering with family and friends. June had a passion for all life had to offer and was the best friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dale, daughter Anita (John) Ferguson, son Ryan Volkman, grandchildren Olyvia, Nicole, Wyatt, and Jax, greatgrandchild Kolt, brothers Martin and LaVerne and sister Lynda. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Vionne and infant daughter Nicole.

A celebration of June's life will be held at The Crossings Center, 170 S Fremont St., Lewiston, MN on Saturday, November 22nd from 1-4pm. A light lunch will be served.
