Joseph “Joe” Ryan Trapen, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at his residence in Tickfaw, Louisiana, at the age of 29. Born on September 5, 1995, in Covington, Joe was a light in every room he entered. He adored his nieces and nephews, was a big kid at heart, and quite a prankster. He will be remembered for his joyful spirit and the love he shared with everyone around him.
Joe was raised in Calvary Pentecostal Church and attended Calvary Christian Academy, where he formed many cherished memories and friendships.
Joe is survived by his mother, Dixie Darlene Wills; father, Michael John Trapen, Sr. (Bobbie); siblings, Michael John Trapen, Jr. (Amber), Jason Warren Trapen (Candi), Johnny Trapen, Chasity Rinicher (Ken), Krystal Waguespack (Jareth), and Desiree Magee; grandmother, Fleta Netterville; aunt, Cindy Lin (Ming) and Robin Wills; uncle, Joseph Wills; nieces and nephews, Mikey, Bryce, Gianna, Gabriel, Tyler, Jayslyn, Aiden, Charles, Juan, Julius, Gabriella, Jonathan, Collan, Luke, and Brantley. Also survived by many cousins, family members and friends.
Preceded in death by grandparents, John V. and Judy Ann Trapen; uncle, Phillip Trapen; cousin, Justin Trapen; brother-in-law, Juan Castro, Sr.; and stepbrother, Charles Coats.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Joe’s Life in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 7:00 pm with Pastors Jeffery Ellis and Denny Jenkins, and his Uncle Anthony Lee presiding. The visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and continue after the service until 9:00 pm.
