John Bailey Haltom

John Bailey Haltom passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at his residence in Ponchatoula, Louisiana at the age of 68.  He was born on Sunday, August 21, 1955 in Hinesville, Georgia.  John was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, who enjoyed music, fishing, and was happy working on his or anyone else’s Harleys.

John is survived by his wife, Robbie J. Haltom; daughters, Vanessa Mitchell of Baton Rouge and Chavon; mother, Nettie Gilliland of Ponchatoula; sisters, Nita Faye Spencer of Connersville, Indiana, Carla Campise (Michael) of Hammond; brother, James Haltom, Jr. (Amy) of Holden. Also survived by five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John S. Bailey; sister, Janie Blouin; stepfather, James Haltom, Sr.; and nephew, James Strickland of Hubert, North Carolina.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm.

Inurnment will be held in Richland, North Carolina at a later date.
