Jeannette Marie “Nett” Toney Aime passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, in Manassas, Virginia at the age of 72. She was born on Thursday, June 21, 1951, to Curtis and Norma Lee Toney of Pumpkin Center, Louisiana, where she was raised and resided prior to moving to Virginia in 1989.
For 54 years she was married to and lived out her dreams with the love of her life, David. Together they built a beautifully blessed biological family of three children, two sons in law and one granddaughter; Tammitha and Craig Griffith, granddaughter Jordyn Griffith, Kenniston Aime, Tiffani and Joseph Kennedy.
Before moving to Virginia she was actively involved in her home church, Macedonia, and spent countless hours living, laughing and loving with the family she was surrounded by.
Jeannette was “Nana” to Jordyn, her grand pups and more “adopted” children and grandchildren than one could count. She was Jordyn’s number one fan during all her years of softball. She never missed a practice, a game or an opportunity to buy a new bat, and was always there to cheer her on.
Over her lifetime, Jeannette lived out loud the very definition of a true servant with a heart of Jesus. Not only did she take the greatest pride and joy in raising and providing for her family, she, along with David, found joy in loving and feeding multitudes of people in their 54 years together. Her home and heart were always open to those less fortunate, hungry or just needing a helping hand. One would never leave her presence hungry. She loved hard and she loved out loud all that she came in contact with.
She was a life member of Yorkshire Volunteer Fire Department, serving the members and her community for decades.
The magnitude of losing her will be felt for years to come by her family, friends and the community. She was dearly and deeply loved by many and made an impact on many lives by her love and kindness. To know her was to love her and be loved by her.
Jeannette is survived by her husband, children and granddaughter. She is also survived by her mother, Norma Lee Toney and sister, Patricia Helton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Toney and her brother HL Toney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service for Jeannette on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 4:00pm CST at Macedonia Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center, 40228 Macedonia Road, Hammond, Louisiana 70403.
