Jaycen Boyd Morris, of Independence, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on Monday, March 19, 1984, Jaycen will be remembered as a hardworking man with a generous spirit and a deep love for all things mechanical.
Jaycen attended Loranger High School and built his working life around the skills and determination that came so naturally to him. He worked for Dennis Truck & Tractor as a diesel mechanic and most recently worked for Pravata Fence, LLC. He was known as someone who worked hard and helped everyone when needed. Jaycen especially enjoyed working on vehicles, four wheelers, lawn mowers, and anything mechanical. He also was an avid Saints fan, and that enthusiasm was part of the energy and personality so many knew and loved.
Jaycen is survived by his mother, Donna Leigh Hudson Morris; his father, Justin B.N. Morris, Sr., known to many as Jack; brothers, Justin Morris Jr. and Jesse Blaise Morris; uncles, Mike Hudson (Debbie), John B. Morris, and Joseph B. Morris; aunts, Jo Ann B. Morris and Julie B. Morris, and cousins, Rachel Hudson Chacon, Leslie Jane Hudson, Abel Hudson, Cathy Hudson Odom, Brenda and James Ivy, Cuban and Ronnie Hartman, and Dale Ingram. He leaves behind family who will carry his memory with them and remember his willingness to lend a hand, his strong work ethic, and the way he shared his talents with others.
Preceded in death by his sister, Jeremy Bridget Morris; grandparents, William R. "Billy" and Bobbie Lee Hudson, J.B. and Marlene Morris, Jack and Catherine Stockard; great grandparents, Bessie and Gene Arrendell; great aunts and uncles, Helen and WV “Bud” Keeling, and Dorothy and Calvin Ingram; and their son, Larry Ingram.
He was known as someone who worked hard and helped everyone when needed.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:30 PM until 5:00 PM at LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I - 12 Service Rd, Ponchatoula, LA 70454.
Jaycen will be remembered with love by those who knew him, and his memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends always.
