Janet Ann Safley Mills

Janet Ann Safley Mills has joined our Lord Jesus Christ in an eternal life on Sunday, March 18, 2018, surrounded by her family, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 86.  Janet was born on Tuesday, December 15, 1931 in Jefferson, Iowa and was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

What a sweet, wonderful person she was. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Janet is survived by her loving family: daughter, Janiece Mills Weinberger and her husband, Paul; daughter, Jennifer Mills Billiot and her husband, Timmy; stepsons, Daniel Mills, Loel Mills, Joel Mills, Alan Mills, and Donald Mills; grandchildren, Kyle W. Weinberger and his wife, Athena, Jessica Weinberger and her companion, Rachael Patrick, Alyce Simpson and her husband, Thomas, and David Weiss; and sister, Clara Deann Edwards.  Also survived by many other grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her first husband, John Gunn, second husband, James L. Mills; children, Deborah Seago, John Gunn, David Gunn, and Richard Gunn; parents, Byron G. and Verna Mae Hutchinson Safley; brother, Richard C. Safley; and stepsons, James Mills and Richard Mills.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Janet’s Life on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Weinberger Residence, 41015 Fire Tower Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 beginning at 1:00 pm.
