James "Jimmy" B. Hyde

James “Jimmy” B. Hyde passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, in Hammond, Louisiana.  He was born on November 22, 1956, in San Francisco, California.  Jimmy was retired from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. Prior to retiring, he enjoyed driving a drag race car while working as a police officer with Hammond Police Department. After retiring, he enjoyed driving his 18-wheeler cross country.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved family: his wife, Cathy Davis Hyde; children, Tammy Murphy and husband, Chad, and Bill Hyde and wife, Desirae; parents, Rev. William P. Hyde and Mary Lupo Hyde; sisters, Frances Lewis of Tickfaw, and Pat Hyde Lathrop and husband, Gary of Houston, Texas; brother, Darrell Hyde and wife, Bonnie of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; grandchildren, Maricaye Gonzales and husband, Joseph, Miah Hyde and partner, Craig Golmon, and Magan Hyde and partner, Michael Stevens; great-grandchildren: Abraham Gonzalez, Samuel Gonzalez, Lyla Grace Golmon, and Lucas James Golman; nieces, Kim Magras and husband, Justin, Charyn Hoover and husband, Jim, Laura Nott and husband, Louis (TJ), and Carly Kavanay and husband, Ben; great-nieces, Madelyn Hoover, Olivia Nott, and Micaiah Magras; and great-nephews, Coal Hoover, Liam Nott, Brooks Kavanay, and Lane Kavanay.

Preceded in death by his daughters, Melissa Ann Hyde and Alissa Marie Hyde.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Jimmy’s Life on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Kentwood Assembly of God, 205 Avenue A, Kentwood, Louisiana 70444 at 1:00 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.
