Hugo “Hooks” Charles Succow, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 73. Born on April 29, 1951, in Hammond, he was raised in Manchac and resided in Ponchatoula. Hugo grew up in the swamp, enjoying fishing, crabbing, shrimping, and alligator hunting. He was truly an amazing man and a friend to all who knew him, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Hugo is survived by his daughters, Heather Yates, Jennifer Succow, and Stephanie Succow; his grandchildren, Shawn Yates, Destiny Cyprian, Trinity Cyprian, and Rayven Yates; and his sister, Donna Rogers. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo C. and Virginia Adams Succow, and his siblings, Diane Melling, Darlene Ellis, Dickie Stratman, and Anthony Succow.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Wetmore Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 11:00 am.
