Henry Lee Lopez, Sr.

Henry Lee Lopez, Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, at his residence in Loranger, Louisiana at the age of 87. He was born on Sunday, October 10, 1937, in New Orleans and spent many happy years living in St. Bernard Parish with his family. He was a life long commercial fisherman and enjoyed tending to his property in Loranger while spending quality time with his family.

Henry is survived by the love of his life, his adoring wife of 62 years, Sandra Parker Lopez; his three sons, Leland Rogers, Henry “Hank” Lopez, Jr. (Mitzi), and Russell “Rusty” Lopez, Sr. (Nealie); his daughter, Penny Lopez Lewis (Troy); grandchildren, Melissa Rogers, Joshua Lopez (Kristina), Canaan Lopez (Brittani), Tabatha Lopez, Russell Lopez, Jr., Abigail Lopez, and Olivia Lopez; sister, Isabell Morales; and great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Lee, Henry, Rhett, Miah, and Penelope. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Gonzales Lopez and Joseph Lopez, Sr.; and siblings, Joseph Lopez, Jr., Anthony Lopez, Phillip Lopez, Frank Lopez, Felice Melerine, and Delores Melerine.

Henry’s wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren came from near and far and gathered over this past week to celebrate Henry’s life and legacy.
