Harvey A. Updyke Jr

Harvey A. Updyke, Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at West Jefferson Medical Center, Marrero, Louisiana, at the age of 71.  He was born on Saturday, October 9, 1948 in Edinburg, Texas.  Harvey was a retired Texas State Trooper and an avid University of Alabama football fan.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their softball games.

Harvey is survived by his beloved family: his wife, Elva De La Rosa Updyke; children, Crimson Duran, Bear Updyke, Jennifer Harrison, Anthony Torres, Manny Torres and Megan Cassagne; brother, Jerry Updyke; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Harvey A. Updyke Sr.; his mom, Wilma Jean Williams; stepfather, Mike and stepbrother, Mike Reed.

A Celebration of Harvey’s Life will be held in Texas by his family.
