Harry "Sonny" Joseph Reno

Harry “Sonny” Joseph Reno passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the age of 92.  He was born on Sunday, July 20, 1930, in Manchac, Louisiana and resided in Ponchatoula for many years.  He was a lifetime commercial fisherman and boat builder.  Sonny was the first fire chief of the Manchac Fire Department.

Sonny is survived by his children, Doyle Reno (Patricia), Bonnie Reno, Regina Reno Santangelo (Elvis), and Clint Reno (Donna); companion, Dorothy “Dot” Powell, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Hilda Jane Jones Reno and Harry Charles Reno; brothers, George Reno and Eddie Reno, and former wife, Bernice Berkey Reno.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Service at Ponchatoula Cemetery, US 22 at US 51, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 10:00 am.

Arrangements are entrusted to LN Hughes Funeral Services, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
