George had a strength that comforted all who knew him.
The Lord used His Soldier, George Anthony, Jr. as a vessel, because the Lord knew that he would not drop the torch that was lit to carry out His message to so many souls to be saved. George's devotional journey was to hear the Lord say, "Well Done My Son". He slipped away peacefully into the Master's arms on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10:05 am surrounded by loved ones and friends. George was born one of three children to the late George Anthony Sr. and Tina Salomony in Independence, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 8, 1942. George accepted Christ at a very early age and later became Pastor at In Jesus Name Community Church in Loranger, Louisiana.
George proudly served his country in the United State Army and then the Reserves.
He met and married his beloved wife, Dorothy Louise Payne and were united in Holy Matrimony for 56 years at the time of her death. To this union five children were born. Four sons, one daughter, and one stepdaughter.
George leaves to cherish his legacy, his children: Timothy A. Anthony (wife Wanda), George S. Anthony, III. (wife Regina), Larry G. Anthony (wife Debra), and Kezia Anthony (husband Tim). Also, he leaves to cherish his memory, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and church family.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Anthony; spouse, Linda Coates; son, Titus; stepdaughter, Cindy; mother, Tina; father, George; and two grandchildren, Ariel and Cassidy.
Though the world seems dimmer without him, his light continues to shine in the hearts of all.
Tribute: George had a strength that comforted all who knew him. He loved without limits and carried his wisdom with modesty. A devoted father, friend, and a man of deep integrity, he lived his life with dignity.
George first served the Lord and was truly gifted to spread the Lord's Word in a unique way, for everyone who heard him preach would have a better understanding and leave with encouragement. He had a way about him that would bring laughter and peace at the same time. If you ever had an opportunity to meet him you would not forget who he was. Though the world seems dimmer without him, his light continues to shine in the hearts of all.
