Edward Frank Otis, Jr.

It is with great sorrow that the family of Edward "Sonny" Otis, Jr. announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the age of 85. He was a loving partner, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and dear friend.  He was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 130.

Preceded in death by his beloved life partner of 31 years, Vivian Liquor; his parents, Edward Otis Sr. and Sara Sanders; and sisters, Judy Williams (JD) and Martha Hill (Arden).

Sonny is survived by the mother of his children, Iola Otis; his loving children, Edward Otis, III (Lisa), Claudette Watkins (Glenn), Kimberly Acosta (Brian), and Beth Schubert (Alex); and his adoring 15 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.  Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Sonny’s Life at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 2825 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
