Edward Joseph “Eddie” Reese, Sr., a devoted family man and steadfast member of the community, passed away peacefully at his residence in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, on Monday, August 17, 2026. He was born on Monday, February 26, 1940, in Hammond, Louisiana, and over the course of 86 years, touched countless lives with his unwavering dedication to those he loved and the passions that enriched his days.

Eddie was the cherished son of Camille and Ottis Reese, both of whom preceded him in death. Raised in Hammond, the values of hard work and loyalty were instilled in him from a young age and remained guiding principles throughout his life. These qualities also marked his long and fruitful career, culminating in his retirement from T N T Welding in Hammond—a workplace where his diligence, skill, and camaraderie left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

Family was the cornerstone of Eddie’s world. For sixty years, he was married to his beloved wife, Lynn Sheridan Reese, whose memory he held close in his heart after her passing. Their marriage stood as a testament to devotion and partnership—a source of strength to all who knew them together. Eddie’s warm, steady presence will be deeply missed by his sons: Eddie Joe Reese, Jr. (Rita), Kevin Reese (Monica), and Darian Reese (Bridget), who carry forward his legacy of love and integrity.

He was a proud grandfather to Marie Cofield (Nick), Trey Reese (Emily), Monica Fontenot (Dusty), Whitney Reese, Kaleb Reese, and Ashlyn Aucoin (Nate). His life was further brightened by the laughter and joy of his great-grandchildren: Sharon and Savannah Cofield, Dusty Fontenot, Jr., Lennon and Greyson Reese. Also survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Sheridan, and many nieces and nephews. Eddie’s devotion to his family never wavered, and the memories shared across generations will serve as a constant reminder of his abiding love and guidance.

Their marriage stood as a testament to devotion and partnership—a source of strength to all who knew them together.

Eddie is also remembered by those family members he joins in eternal rest, including his dear wife, Lynn Sheridan Reese; his parents, Camille and Ottis Reese; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bethel and Ray Sheridan; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gwen and David Alexander; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Jimmy Sheridan, and brother-in-law, Don Sheridan. Their spirits, together again, watch over those who mourn his passing.

He found great joy in deer hunting, which provided cherished times outdoors and among friends. His kindness, sincerity, and devotion defined his relationships, both within his family and with the friends gathered over a lifetime. To all who knew him, Eddie offered a steadfast presence—one rooted in deep care and genuine connection.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Rd, Ponchatoula, LA on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 1:00 pm. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Hammond, LA.

Edward Joseph Reese, Sr.’s legacy of love, resilience, and generosity endures through all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was one well-lived, and his memory will forever be treasured.
