Edgar L. “China” Anthony passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Passages Hospice in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 79. China was born on Wednesday, September 11, 1940 in Independence, Louisiana and was a resident of Loranger, Louisiana.
China was a retired cook and worked for Camp Glenwood Christian Youth Camp and for the Tangipahoa Parish School Board where he cooked for the Loranger Schools. He loved his church, listening to gospel music, and he loved The Lord. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
China is survived by his loving family; his brothers, Hezzie Anthony, Jr. (Marie), Ronald L. Anthony, and Rev. Kenneth J. Anthony (Vonda), and his sister, Alice Cordie Johnson; special friend, Rita Everett; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtis L. Baham Anthony and Hezzie Anthony, Sr; sister, Maxine Hawkins; and brothers, Elzie G. Anthony, Thomas H. Anthony, and Bobby L. Anthony.

Interment was held in Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery, Uneedus, Louisiana. Special thanks to Pastor & Mrs. Frank Palmisano who presided over Brother China's service.
