Earl "Ej" Joseph Poche Jr

Earl “EJ” Joseph Poche, Jr., 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 29 ^th , 2022, at 12:28 pm. He was surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Ponchatoula, LA.

Born on Friday, October 12 ^th , 1945, EJ was a lifelong resident of Ponchatoula. He was a Pipefitter with Local 60 and later went on to crabbing and shrimping. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a man of the land who enjoyed the outdoors. He was passionate for hog hunting and deer hunting and enjoyed training his dogs. He absolutely adored his blue jay and talking with his bird, Tiger. On August 31st, EJ accepted Jesus Christ into his heart with his oldest granddaughter leading him into prayer.

EJ is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carolyn Ann Kendall Poche; daughters, Sandy Poche Helms of Ponchatoula and Karen Kendall Chauvin (Todd) of Woodstock, GA; sons, Chad Poche of Ponchatoula and Scott Poche of Hammond; sister, Linda Sheridan; brothers, Glen Poche (Kay) and Ronnie Poche; sister-in-law, Mel Poche; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Poche, Sr. and Christine Hoover Poche; sister, Elaine Bennett; and brother, Jackie Poche.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Monday, October 3 ^rd , 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, October 4 ^th , 2022, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow the Tuesday visitation at 12:00 pm.

Interment will follow at the Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
