Debra Ann Walker Achord Evert

Debra Ann “Debbie” Walker Achord Evert passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, May 04, 2020 at her residence in Independence, Louisiana at the age of 68.  Debbie was born on Sunday, July 1, 1951 and was raised in French Settlement and Colyell, Louisiana.  She lived in Ponchatoula for 20 years with her husband, Jimmy, prior to his passing and Independence for 19 years following her marriage to Russell.  Debbie attended First Baptist Church in Ponchatoula where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years.  She enjoyed her many hobbies; crafting with her granddaughter, baking her many elegant wedding cakes, and putting her cosmetology license to use by cutting, styling, and coloring hair of her family and friends.

Debbie is survived by her loving family; her husband, Russell Evert; daughter, Ashley Ann Achord; and granddaughter, Taylor Ashlynn Achord.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Achord; and her parents, Edwin L. and Denise M. Walker.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside services in Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 11:00 am.  Pastor Josh Day presiding.
