Daniel Chalk, Jr. (54), who was known to his family and friends as "Chuck," passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at his home in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He was born on Saturday, September 26, 1970 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Chuck is survived by his adored daughters, Cypress Chalk (AJ Worthington), Andrea Chalk and Charlotte Chalk and by his beloved wife of 22 years, Catherine Pusey Chalk. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Cheryl Knapp (John Knapp), Margaret Viroga (Alvaro Viroga), Steve Bishop and Russ Bishop, as well as his dear in-laws, AJ and Ellen Pusey, his cherished nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and many other precious family members and lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Lynn and Larry Bishop; his father and stepmother, Dan and Jean Chalk; his maternal grandparents, W.T. and Jean Smith, and his paternal grandparents Clarence and Sybil Chalk.
Chuck worked in IT Support for over 30 years and held every company that he worked for in high regard. He truly thought it was a privilege to serve and support all of his wonderful customers.
Chuck was a musician and bass player, who loved all things music! He enjoyed camping, hiking woodworking, gaming and often spent his weekends grilling and using his new smoker. His infectious laugh and room brightening smile, his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him. His friends and family remember his zest for life and the positive impact he had on those around him. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 S. I-12 Service Rd, Ponchatoula, LA 70454, on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Family and Friends are invited to participate in The Rosary at 10:30 am. Visitation will be from 11:00 am-12:30 pm with a Funeral Service at 12:30 pm, followed by a funeral-reception.
A Celebration of Chuck's Life will be held in Memphis, Tn. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 with more details to follow.
