Cory will be remembered as a flamboyant, fun-loving man who knew who he was and lived with a spirit that was unmistakably his own.
Cory Joseph "Corrina" Picou, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the age of 40. He was born on Monday, December 30, 1985, in Hammond, Louisiana.
Cory will be remembered as a flamboyant, fun-loving man who knew who he was and lived with a spirit that was unmistakably his own. Disabled all of his life, he was extremely smart and a true computer wiz, bringing sharp intelligence and personality to those around him. He was also a true friend, someone whose presence carried warmth, color, and sincerity. Cory enjoyed cooking and trying different recipes, finding pleasure in creating and sharing food in his own way. Above all, he dearly loved his family, and that love remained at the heart of his life.
Cory is survived by his father, Joseph W. Picou Jr.; stepfather, James Pea; sister, Devon Brooke Picou and brother-in-law, Johnny Hart; sister, Casey Penalber; brother, Joey Picou; grandmother, Mary Picou; and nephew, Jonavon Hart. Each of them carries forward memories of Cory’s intelligence, his lively nature, and the affection he gave so freely to those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kay Lynn Evans Picou Pea, and by his grandfather, Joseph Picou Sr. Their memory remained part of Cory’s life, and now he rests again in their company.
Cory enjoyed cooking and trying different recipes, finding pleasure in creating and sharing food in his own way.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 S I - 12 Service Rd, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454. The funeral service will follow there at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Holly Gardens Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
Cory will be remembered for his sharp mind, generous heart, vibrant spirit, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His life left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
