Claude Ladner, Jr. passed away peacefully at the Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond, Louisiana on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the age of 92. He was born on Thursday, September 4, 1930, in Lumberton, Mississippi and resided in Hammond, Louisiana. He was a Sprinkler Fitter with the Sprinkler Fitters Union 669. He was a Master Mason, Lumberton Lodge # 417 with the Grand Lodge of Mississippi, F. & A.M. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved coon hunting, deer hunting, fishing, and raising hunting dogs. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War.
Claude is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tara Lea Ladner Taylor and Keith E. Taylor of Hammond, LA; and sisters-in-law, Linda Watts of Biloxi, MS, Sharon Bounds of Bastrop, LA, and Caroline Fowler of Purvis, MS. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary Jo Fowler Ladner; parents, Claude Sr. and Erna Ladner; grandparents who raised him, Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Ladner; aunts, Myrtie Lott, Bertha Smith, and Dorothea Ladner; sisters, Mickey and Laverne; brothers-in-law, Gordon Fowler and Edward Bounds; and sister-in-law, Joyce Rice.
The Ladner Family would like to extend their gratitude to Modern Hospice and Richard Murphy Hospice House for their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Service at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, 908 Western Avenue, Hammond, LA 70401 on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 am.
