Carolyn Corneille Hano

Carolyn Corneille Hano, born on Sunday, February 28, 1937, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, December 12, 2025. Carolyn was a fiery force of nature whose sparkle could light up even the dullest of days. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many. 

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Sheila Joiner and Stephanie Hano Carter (Bobby Carter), and her stepson, “Little” E.J. Hano. Carolyn’s role as a grandmother was no small task. Riley Englade, Brody Joiner (Kaytie Joiner), Blayne Joiner, Krista Joiner, Katie Darsey (Sam Darsey), and Brady Joiner (Sydney Joiner) kept her spirits alive with their shenanigans. While also adding the joy of not one, not two, but ten great-grandchildren (and still counting). Her legacy of laughs and love will live on through the next generations. Most of all, no one compares to the relationship she and Liam Joiner shared. Carolyn and Liam spent the last years of her life causing nothing but chaos; the love they had for each other was, and forever will be, unmatched. In addition to her immediate family, Carolyn is remembered by her brothers, Clyde Corneille, his wife Murlene, Johnny Corneille, and his wife Vicki. Along with her nieces and nephews, who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Joseph (E.J.) Hano, as well as her parents, Joseph Van Allen Corneille and Maude Fletcher Corneille.

The visitation for Carolyn will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Jeffery Ellis at 7:00 pm in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Rest in Peace, Carolyn. You lived a life that encouraged a legacy of laughter, love, and enough chaos to keep your family entertained for generations. She will be missed by all who knew her.
