She found immense fulfillment in creating a nurturing home filled with love, warmth, and laughter.

It is with deep sadness and heartfelt admiration that we announce the passing of Carol Herzog, a cherished soul who departed this life peacefully of natural causes on Friday, October 16, 2026. Born on Wednesday, August 19, 1942, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Carol graced the world with her radiant presence for 84 wonderful years. Carol was a resident of Saint Tammany Parish for over 30 years.

Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Larry and Janet Parker. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and dedication to her family. She was preceded in death by her cherished and adored husband, Haskel Eugene Herzog Sr., with whom she shared a profound and enduring love for over 40 years. Carol was also preceded in death by her adored sons, Haskel Eugene Herzog Jr. and Timothy Erwin Herzog Sr, her sisters, Nancy Alfonso and Mary Cochran; along with her brothers-in-law, Martin Alfonso and Henry Lopez, who also left this world before her, yet she carried their memories in her heart.

Carol's legacy of love and resilience lives on through her surviving children, Corey Herzog (Britney Herzog) and Kevin Herzog (Denise Herzog), who continue to embody the values of love, devotion, and integrity; she and Haskel Sr. instilled in them. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a particular source of joy and pride, and she treasured the moments spent with them. Her sister Sandra Lopez and her niece and nephews were a large, loving, part of her life in which she cherished. A special and loving note of appreciation to Britney Herzog (Corey Herzog) and Penny Lewis (Troy Lewis) for their unwavering devotion and assistance to Carol Herzog.

A woman of intelligence, quick wit, and outstanding humor, Carol approached life with a zest that was infectious to all who knew her. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and she found immense fulfillment in creating a nurturing home filled with love, warmth, and laughter. Before dedicating her life to motherhood and mastering the art of being a homemaker, Carol worked in various professional roles, demonstrating her versatility and capability.

Carol had a lifelong love for sewing and would often lose herself in the creativity and tranquility it afforded her. Her passion for Disney World was a testament to her enduring sense of wonder and joy, and she was overly delighted in all things related to its magical world.

A private memorial and graveside prayer ceremony, at a later date; will honor Carol, and the loving impact on those who were fortunate enough to share in her loving journey.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we hold Carol's memory tenderly, knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her legacy of love, humor, and family devotion will forever be cherished by those who were privileged to know her.

If so compelled to honor her memory, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to the Northshore Humane Society in Covington, Louisiana or The Wounded Warrior Project, both causes close to Carol's heart.

Carol’s arrangements were placed in the compassionate care of LN Hughes Funeral Services, where every detail is handled with warmth and grace.
