Carey Shaun Austin

Carey Shaun Austin passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, in Pine Grove, Louisiana, at the age of 33.  He was born on Monday, July 22, 1991, in Hammond, Louisiana and resided in Independence.  He was a jokester who enjoyed making everyone laugh.  He loved hunting and fishing and was just a good ole’ country boy!

Carey is survived by his wife, Brandi Lynn Barnett Austin and their dog, Rosco; daughter, Chloe; son, Braxton; stepdaughter, Kelsey; stepson, Joshua; mother, Mona Kay Naquin; father, Felix L. Austin; brothers, Michael Phillips and Cody Austin; sisters, Dena Aden, DeStanie Lemoine (Armand), and Katie Austin; grandparents, Cecil Naquin, Martha and Alvin Austin; uncle, Maurice Austin (Wanda); aunt, Fonda Naquin; and nephews, Brent, Jacob, Bryson, and Lane. Also survived by many cousins, family members, and friends.

Preceded in death by grandmother, Dianne Davis and many cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Kedron Baptist Church, 922 Louisiana 1046, Amite City, Louisiana 70422 on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow in Kedron Baptist Church Cemetery.
