Brenda Ann Baudier Ernst

Brenda Ann Baudier Ernst passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 78. She was born on Tuesday, October 22, 1946 in New Orleans and resided in Loranger.

She was best known as the owner of Trail's End Antique Shop in Ponchatoula since 1996 and was the founder of the Ponchatoula City Wide Yard Sale. Above all else she cherished her family. Her husband, son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the pride of her life. Nothing brought more joy than the time spent with them. She held a deep love for animals. She carried that same compassion into the community. She loved Ponchatoula, the town she called home. Brenda’s memory will live on through her family, the community she touched, and every soul who stepped through the doors of her antique shop.

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, John Anthony Ernst, III; son and daughter-in-law, John Jeffrey Ernst and Robin Rogers Ernst; grandchildren, Courtney Ernst Benson (Casey), John Anthony Ernst, Sr. (Brittany), and Ethan Louis Ernst (Jeanine); great grandchildren, Eli, Cruz, Chandler, Jax, Kai, John Jr., and Jude; and sister, Sharron Baudier.  Also survived by nieces, nephews, many family members and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Anna Mae and Lloyd L. Baudier, Sr., and brother, Lloyd Baudier, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Brenda’s Life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana beginning at 9:30 am followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 am.

The inurnment will be held in Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery at a later date.
