Bonnie Louise Bray

Bonnie Louise Bray of Ponchatoula, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024 surrounded by loving friends. She was born on Monday, October 13, 1947, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the daughter of Lawrence (Bill) and Louise (Peg) Bray. She was raised and attended school in Granby, Massachusetts. On completion of her schooling, she worked for Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, CT for 32 years and for Computer Sciences Corporation in East Hartford, CT for 16 years as an IT Computer Security Analyst.

Bonnie lived in Rocky Hill, Connecticut during her working years. She enjoyed sports, in particular skiing and golf. While in grade school she became an accomplished equestrian, excelling in dressage. She trained at the Mount Holyoke College stables in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Bonnie had numerous trophies and ribbons and was the pride of her family.

She loved animals and owned a rabbit named Thumper and she loved spending time with dogs Bella & Gia. She was her maternal grandfather’s cribbage partner and they would play for hours.

Bonnie moved to Ponchatoula in 2015 along with lifelong friends Rita Alexandria and Larry Heidel. She is survived by her brother Lawrence and nieces Susan and Karen and great nephew Dominic. She was a friend to all who knew her, and she will be missed by many.

There will be a Celebration of Bonnie’s life on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 12:30 PM at Tope La Restaurant in Hammond, LA.
