Bobby Joe Aguirre, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 60. Born on Monday, January 17, 1966, in Bessemer, Alabama, Bobby’s life was marked by warmth, dedication, and a deep love for his family and the simple joys that filled his days.
Bobby’s heart was as vast as the waters where he loved to fish, and his hands bore the marks of care and craftsmanship as he lovingly worked on his 2000 Chevy Silverado. He found joy in the eerie mysteries of ghost shows and scary movies, delighting in the thrill of the unknown. But above all, he cherished time spent with his dear wife, children, grandchildren, and his treasured animal companions, demonstrating a gentle spirit and unwavering devotion.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife Nikki Jean Lingo, who stood by his side through every chapter of their journey together. His legacy lives on through his children: Thomas Aguirre, Xena Aguirre, Amber Aguirre, Brittany Frank, Alicia Frank, Avamae Aguirre, and Gabryella Aguirre. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Paxton Angstadt, MaKenna Boudreaux, Kalani Short, Lilly Short, and Penelope Short. Bobby’s family circle extends to his sisters Diana Wilson and Jeannie Aguirre, as well as his niece Brenda Aguirre, who carry his memory close to their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brenda B. and Thomas Aguirre, Sr., his brother Thomas Aguirre, Jr., and niece Thuy Aguirre, whose spirits he now joins in eternal peace.
A visitation to honor Bobby's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Rd, Ponchatoula, LA . A graveside service will follow at Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, LA at 11:00 AM.

His passion for life's simple pleasures and the depth of his love will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and eternally cherished.
