Betty Hinton Romig

Betty Hinton Romig, 77, died Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Hammond, Louisiana.

Ms. Romig was born in Cleveland, Mississippi and was a long-time resident of New Orleans, Louisiana and most recently of Mandeville, Louisiana. She spent many years working as an administrative assistant in the collegiate fields and in private corporations.

Betty enjoyed playing tennis, loved a good cross word puzzle, cheered loudly for the Saints and LSU, adored her dogs, and loved her family.

Ms. Romig is preceded in death by her parents; her father, Mr. Melton Hinton and her mother, Ms. Jacqueline Worrell Hinton as well as her siblings, Rebecca Hinton Steg and John W. Hinton.

She is survived by her two children, Stephanie Tipton (Alexander) of Ponchatoula, LA, and Todd Romig (Sharon) of Timnath, Colorado. She has four grandchildren, Kayla, Brooke, Jake, and Julia.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at St. Timothy’s Church in Mandeville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with a service at 11:00 am.  Guests are invited to join the family for a reception following the service.
