Allison Elaine Burns passed away following complications of an accidental head injury, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at her residence in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 43. She was born on Friday, November 9, 1979, in Covington, Louisiana to Gary James Burns and Carla Elaine Bryan.
Our sweet Allison's light is shining in heaven now. She had a big generous heart of compassion and kindness. She would be the first to tell you she wasn't perfect, but God showed her how much He loved her and wanted her to experience His love, power and purposes in her life.
She battled addiction many years but was moving forward in the freedom, and spiritual healing of heart and soul that Jesus brings. She wanted to help support others in their journey and would post her before and after pictures so people could be encouraged and know that with God there is ALWAYS HOPE.
She really cared for people and was so humble and ready to forgive and have compassion for even those that hurt her. She was ready to give that love she received from God. She prayed for others with such genuine concern, you knew it touched God's heart with yours. She also was a woman who praised God for all that He is and especially for His love, mercy, and compassion.
Her favorite bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11-14 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity."
God brought her out of captivity and into His marvelous love and light. When she slipped, she didn't stay down, she got back up and back to the path of God. He never gave up on her and she got stronger each time.
She had several years of sobriety and always prayed for her friends to get free, too. She talked about her precious loving family [of people and cats], how good they were to her and how much she loved them all. She attended several spiritual retreats. It was such a joy to see her get blessed by God with His love she was so eager to receive.
She posted daily bible verses so people could see how God reaches out to us through the bible. Her last two posts were rather profound. I'd say she accomplished it. " There is no more pain, sadness, sorrow or death now. Only a world the human mind can't begin to imagine." 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” She is there now.
We will miss her sweet heart and remember the good times. Allison’s prayer for us would be to think about our own lives, get the help we need and love God and each other while we can. He loves us eternally and wants us to experience everything Jesus came to earth for, so we could know the good Father, have our broken hearts healed, and be set free to live a life of purpose.
