Adela De Lourdes Suhr Valle, a beacon of warmth and unwavering care, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, in New Orleans, LA. Born on February 11, 1956, in Managua, Nicaragua, Adela’s life was a testament to dedication, compassion, and the power of family harmony.

For many years, Adela devoted her professional life to nurturing knowledge and learning, serving as a Manager at a branch of Hispamer, a distributary of books to libraries throughout Nicaragua. Her work was more than a career; it was a mission to help build bridges to education and enlightenment. She carried out these duties with unwavering commitment until her retirement, leaving behind a legacy rooted in service and leadership.

Adela’s heart was vast and tender, always extending itself to care for everyone around her—family, friends, and even strangers in need. Her deep belief in unity and harmony within the family was more than a hope; it was a guiding principle that shaped every relationship she cherished. She wove a tapestry of love that encompassed children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, making home a sanctuary of togetherness.

The fabric of Adela’s family life is rich and expansive. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Clifford Perez Suhr, Gely Perez Suhr, Ilse Perez Suhr, and Carolina Fuentes Suhr; grandchildren Clifford Perez II, Christopher Perez, Vinuel Pineda, Gelsy Munoz Perez, Isaias Munoz Perez, Reinhard Perez, Alejandro Cubas, Jordan Cubas; and great-grandchild Leo Pineda. Her family circle extends to her ex-husband Clifford Perez, ex-daughter-in-law Xoe Pineda, ex-son-in-law Pablo Munoz, son-in-law Geovanny Bustamante, siblings Dennis Suhr, Nubia Suhr, Carlos Suhr, Rafaela Suhr, and dear friend Edith Mejia, who was like a daughter to her. The love and remembrance also spread through her many nephews, nieces, family members, and friends who formed the vibrant mosaic of her life.

Tracing the roots of her nourishing spirit, Adela was the beloved daughter of Alberto Suhr and Soledad Valle, now departed. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Leonel Saenz, Aural Lila Saenz, and Hilda Suhr, whose memories she carried in her heart.

Throughout her final days, the family witnessed the extraordinary dedication and compassion of the medical teams who cared for Adela. They extend their deepest gratitude to the University Hospital and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Special thanks are reserved for Dr. Farah Al Haj and Dr. Anas Akqam at University Hospital, and Dr. Carter Davis, Dr. Amy Levine, Dr. Lisa Monteverde, along with their devoted nursing staff and supporting personnel at Ochsner. Their exceptional care was a light in a challenging time and will forever hold a place of honor in the family’s memory.

Adela’s passing leaves an indelible void, yet also a reservoir of love, kindness, and unity she fostered so deeply. Her legacy is etched in the hearts of those she cherished and those fortunate enough to have been touched by her generous spirit. As family and friends gather in remembrance, they hold fast to her wish—may the family remain united in harmony, carrying forward the love she so tenderly cultivated.

A Celebration of Adela's Life will be held by her family at a later date.
