Addie Joyce Addison Hancock

Addie Joyce Hancock, fondly known as Granny, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at her residence in Hammond, Louisiana at the age of 94.  She was born on Tuesday, July 15, 1930, in Holden, Louisiana.  She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed painting, sewing, quilting, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her children, Valerie Hutchinson (Millard) of Hammond, LA and Ronald Hancock (Edna) of Madison, TN; siblings, Ethel Sibley (Wilton) and Raymond Addison (Sue); grandchildren, Monica Robertson and Donelle Rose (Dwayne); great-grandchildren, Dylan Larkin (Mallory), Zachary Larkin, Hayden Hutches (Allie), Maddison Hawkins (Hayden), and Amanda Pravata (Johnny); and great great grandchildren, Kora, Isla, and Duke Hutches, Auden and Stafford Hawkins, Gabrielle Worsley, Ava Maurer, Gene Estay, and Jeno Pravata.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, John “Monty” Hancock; son, Donald Thomas Herring, Jr.; parents, Carey Warren Addison and Mabel McCarroll Kinchen; siblings, Henry Addison, Carey Addison, Jr., and Coylene Woodall; and great-granddaughter, Breann Rose.

The Hancock/Hutchinson family extends their sincere gratitude to North Oaks Hospice and Mrs. Hancock’s sitters for their compassionate care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 am.  The visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until 11:00 am.
